This is a popular spot for birders, and extremely so during the spring warbler migration, and the boardwalk can get literally packed on the best days. This is world-class birding.

These wetlands, possibly originally diked for mosquito control, are managed mostly for waterfowl, it appears. You might find trumpeter swamps here.

That beach is the biggest dump ever they don't mow and there is dead fish and garbage everywhere. Does not even deserve one star but it wouldn't let me rate unless a star was chosen. Do not waste your time driving to this dump. Oh and they change the name their website is wrong. Disappointed

If you're looking for a "day at the beach" this isn't for you. Bleached mussel shells make up much of the beach, which is pretty much left alone.
